Winners of the September art contest

It sure was a test of character to enter our September art contest! There were so many great entries this time, our contestants really had to dig deep for this month’s prompt.

The prompt for September was to design a character for Inktober 🖤 The idea was to come up with a main character to star in your daily Inktober drawings.

Our contestants came up with some really amazing character designs! Check out all the entries!

The winners were picked during Critique Arena, our monthly live event for members. Our judges seeded the top 16 against each other, and the audience voted for their favorites. Sixteen battled it out in the arena, but only 2 made the final cut!

You can experience all the drama in the recording of the event, but in the meantime here are the two winning entries:

Winner! Art by Ayla VaLiyeva.

Winner! Art by Katherine Tyson.

This is a first time win for BOTH Ayla and Katherine! Nice to see some newbies in the arena!

And here are the rest of the entries that made the Sweet 16 (it was so hard to pick just 16!):

This time, the judges had a tough time narrowing it down to the Top 16, so they picked 12 more for honorable mention!

A big thank you to all who submitted, we are so proud of the work you are doing! Yay for you!

Be sure to enter our October art contest for a chance to win a live art critique and all the glory 💪

Since it’s that inky time of year, the prompt for this month is a tribute to Inktober🖤 The prompt is: Sprout.

Entries are due October 31. Be sure to submit on the Forum and the Critique Arena website!

See you next time in the arena…the Critique Arena!
