SVS came together in 2012 as a way to offer online illustration classes by professional illustrators. Will Terry and Jake Parker started making instructional videos that showed their actual working process for working as an illustrator. Lee White joined the team in 2014 and together they are building a resource to help anyone who is interested in art and illustration. By hiring the best working professionals to teach, SVS ensures our students get the best instruction possible.

Our Mission

We want to offer the best illustration instruction at a price that doesn't break the bank. We strive to keep the quality and subject matter of our videos high. Some schools offer lots of short videos that are fun to watch, but they are hard to learn from. Our videos are made by illustrators who are also seasoned teachers. We wanted to offer a range of content from short demos to thorough multi-week classes. In short, we want to help you get to where you are going in the quickest and most direct route possible.

We also want to focus on a well rounded education that hits many different topics to help you become the best artist you can be. By offering a multitude of classes in all kinds of subjects, students really get the benefit of many ways of working and seeing all the options available to them.

I have found this class to be astronomically helpful in the development of my pre-production process. I know I know, you are supposed to plan your drawings, but that never really sunk in until taking this class with Lee and David. The course work is approachable, but challenging and fun! I’ve found myself anxiously waiting for the new materials to be released each week and eager to jump into new assignments. Lee and David both offer incredibly valuable feedback in a context that is critical and supportive, a hard balance to strike. I can already see the lessons impacting my approach to my work, and the quality of my finished pieces. I cannot say enough good things about the class. If you are at all serious about improving your skills, this is the course for you!
