Make one thing and make it beautiful

Hurray! You made it through Inktober! It's amazing what drawing everyday can do for your skills!

Now we would like to offer another art challenge. We want you to slow down the pace and work on one image and make it as good as you can.

While Inktober is about making a new image daily, Slowvember is about quality and getting something you really like. Maybe it's a new portfolio piece. Maybe it's a painting you have been thinking about for a long time. Maybe it's time to stretch your skills with a new kind of paint. Whatever the case, we want you to take your time and make something that you care about.

The idea is to spend the entire month of November making a piece you are really proud of, one you can put in your portfolio!

Can you work on other art during Slowvember? Yes, go for it! We know you got other stuff going on 😉 The challenge is not about working on only one thing, it’s more about taking the time to explore and experiment with an illustration before taking it to a finish. All too often we rush into drawing without really thinking through the concept and playing with the possibilities.

So, we want to see your process - reference photos, thumbnail sketches, color studies, all the steps along the way. Be sure to post your progress with the hashtags #slowvember and #slowvember2020 so we can follow along 🐌 We will be sharing our process as well!
