KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • The best storytellers allow their stories to unfold and change naturally, rather than insisting on their original idea when it no longer works.

  • Evaluate: is your use of social media helping you achieve your career goals?

  • Animators don’t need to start their careers at major studios; it’s best to find a smaller studio that will nurture and build you at the start of your career, then work your way up.

  • As a new illustrator, many of your assignments won’t match your taste or style. By creating despite this difficulty, you’ll gain confidence that you can take on any assignment and do a good job.

  • Vision is the key to success in any long-term project.
