Our Story
We love a good story. We know you do too.
That’s why we created SVSLearn, to help aspiring illustrators learn the craft of visual storytelling.
Our Team

FounderLee White
Lee White is a children's book illustrator based in Colorado. Lee has illustrated more than 27 children's books, including Love, Santa, This Pretty Planet and Kate, Who Tamed The Wind. He also does commercial work for various clients, including Marks & Spencer, Trader Joe’s, United Airlines and Disney. When not busy with client projects, Lee creates his own personal work, which is shown at various galleries and art fairs. He teaches all his illustration secrets at SVSLearn and workshops around the country. Lee is repped by LK Literary Agency.
FounderInstructorSamantha Cotterill
Samantha Cotterill is an award-winning children’s book author and illustrator based in New York. Rather than creating 2D illustrations, she creates intricate dioramas and photographs them for each spread. She has recently launched a book series for kids on the Autism spectrum and/or with sensory issues entitled "Little Senses," with more than 1 million titles distributed through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library program. She is a resident host on the SVSLearn podcast, 3 Point Perspective.
Anthony Wheeler
Anthony Wheeler was a prolific artist as a kid, but went to business school instead of art school. He spent many years as an executive recruiter only to decide that he wanted to draw silly pictures of bunnies, skeletons and Old West sheriffs for the rest of his days. Now he's a full time illustrator in the world of children's books and is represented by BookEnds Literary. He is also a resident host on 3 Point Perspective, the illustration podcast.
InstructorDavid Hohn
David Hohn has been working as a freelance illustrator and college instructor for the last 15 years. Working primarily in the juvenile and children's markets he has illustrated more than 40 children's picture books, middle grade and YA projects, along with countless theater poster, magazine and licensing projects. His days are spent in his studio imagining what it would be like to be someone else, doing something else – and then he paints it.
