KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Becoming great at something requires sacrifice. What are you willing to give up to build your dreams?

  • How do you succeed as an artist-entrepreneur without a slew of products and offerings? Create an evergreen product, one so good that people can’t say no to it, and which keeps earning money without your constant time or attention. Focus on advertising that and continually improving it so you remain at the top of the market.

  • What kind of art do you hope to make in five years? Where do you want your career to go? When you have a long-term vision, you can determine the best use of your time today, this week, and this year.

BIO

Kesh is an Indian-based artist, illustrator, and movie producer. As a child, he was heavily influenced by cartoons and started his drawing journey by copying animation. As a self-taught artist, Kesh relied on YouTube to learn the fundamentals of drawing.

Although Kesh’s community placed a high value on STEM fields, his parents supported him in pursuing a creative career. He majored in filmmaking and got a job as a video producer, but soon realized he wasn’t cut out to take orders from someone else. He quit to freelance, grow his YouTube channel, and work on his personal art. He developed his signature course, Drawing Camp, which has taught over five thousand students the fundamentals of drawing, how to design characters and create from imagination, and how to tell stories through art.

Kesh is fascinated by the intersection of art and business, seeking to create art-based products that add value to the world and generate income without requiring his constant attention. He’s working towards creating an animated feature film over the next sixteen to eighteen months, so follow him @keshrt to stay posted for his next epic project!
