Winners of the June art contest

If you are a regular around here, you know that cute wins. But what happens when ALL the entries are cute??

The prompt for the June art contest was to design a cute character by the name of Albert. He’s furry, fun, and always getting into trouble. The challenge was to design a character that could potentially be turned into a book, a PBS animated series, a plushie, and a learning app for kids.

We got so many cute entries, it was so hard to pick the cutest!

The winners were picked during Critique Arena, our monthly live event for members. Our judges seeded the top 16 against each other, and the audience voted for their favorites. Sixteen battled it out in the arena, but only 2 made the final cut!

You can experience all the drama in the recording of the event, but in the meantime here are the two winning entries:

Winner! Art by Mag Takac.

Winner! Art by Melissa Bailey.

In a crazy twist, this is the third win for BOTH Mag and Melissa!! They are totally crushing it!!

As always, a big thank you to all who submitted! Y’all did an awesome job!

Awesome! GIF from Giphy.

Be sure to enter our July art contest for a chance to win a live art critique and all the glory 💪

The prompt for July is to design the perfect abode for Albert and his family. If environment design is your weak spot, this would be a good one to go for!

Entries are due July 31.

See you next time in the arena…the Critique Arena!
