Ready for another picture book break down??

This is where we pick a favorite picture book and analyze the storytelling from the illustrator point of view🤔🎨It’s ALL about the illustrations!

For this week’s session, David Hohn will be walking us through Waiting for Mama, a beautiful picture book written by Lee Tae-Jun and illustrated by Kim Dong Seong.

It’s a classic Korean story about a child waiting for his mama at the train station. The story was originally published as a short story in a Korean newspaper in 1938, and updated in 2004 with illustrations by Kim Dong-Seong. The US edition was released in 2007 and includes both Korean and English text.

It’s a fascinating look at cultural differences in storytelling!

The live event kicks off at 2pm MDT. We’ll be emailing the event link to subscribers the week of July 26. Hope to see you then!
