New Class: Interior Environment Design

Art by Will Terry.

Everybody loves designing characters, but what about the environments where those characters eat, sleep, work and play? A well-designed space can help tell the story of your character.

Illustrating interior environments can be a HUGE challenge because there are so many elements that need to work together for the illustration to look right.

The whole vibe can just feel off when any of the common pitfalls come into play, such as a boring point of view, overly empty spaces, awkwardly placed objects, and inconsistent timeframe or architecture.

Well, we’ve got good news for YOU! Will Terry’s new course, Interior Environment Design, launches TODAY!

In this class you will learn how to:

  • Illustrate with interesting and unexpected point-of-view angles

  • Rotate and draw a room from various angles to find the perfect POV

  • Accurately map out rooms to serve as blueprints for drawings

  • Position and overlap objects and furniture to build a believable scene

  • Keep the time period and architecture consistent throughout

Will’s class is part of our Foundations Curriculum, which is designed to help artists of all skill levels build a stronger foundation in illustration and master the essential skills needed be a working artist.
