The Official Inktober 2026 Prompt List!
Don’t PANIC! If you’re not sure what to draw for the Inktober 2026 art challenge, the official prompt list is here to the RESCUE. HOORAY!
If this is your year to do Inktober, now is a good time to start thinking about what you are going to draw. That way when Inktober kicks off on October 1, you can hit the ground running.
What is Inktober? It’s a is a worldwide art challenge started by Jake Parker, one of the founders of SVSLearn! The goal is to practice inking by doing an ink drawing every day in the month of October. That's 31 drawings in 31 days! The goal is to improve your drawing skills and develop a daily drawing habit.
Anyone can take part in the challenge. All you have to do is:
Make a drawing in ink. You can do a pencil under-drawing if you like.
Post it on social media, your fridge, or in the SVSLearn community! The idea is to just share your art 🫶
Hashtag it with #inktober and #inktober2026, if you’re posting on social media.
Repeat every day in October! Or, choose a pace that works for you 🙌
But, sometimes the hardest part is just coming up with 31 different ideas of what to draw.
That’s where the official prompt list comes in. It’s simply a list of different words for each day of the month, that you can use as inspiration for what to draw that day. Do you have to use it? No, it’s totally up to you! It’s just a resource if you need a little inspo.
We might be biased, but we here at SVSLearn are big fans of Inktober 🖤 We really hope you give it a go, especially if you’ve never done it before. If you do take part, check out the new Inktober 2026 hangout in our community.
Starting September 1, we’ll be unlocking a new Inktober hangout for anyone to join for free. This is where you can plan your projects, post your work and connect with your fellow inkers. It’s a great way to stay on track with your Inktober challenge!
